We often see what the other people wants us to see, we are mostly blinded by media. We only see the bad things but not the worst of it. There are millions of people living differently from wealthy down to the most likely just empty.
Wealthy people as we all know either came from a rich family or a successful entrepreneur and the worst is from being corrupt. I just can’t understand how much they are willing to risk everything just to gain all these money and power and at the end people dies…You may have everything when your living but you’ll leave everything when your dying and then you are nothing.
And then the middle class people, still lucky to have a decent job to pay for all the bills, fed the family and have some little extra for them to enjoy. Well, I can say I am a part of this. I am not a hypocrite to say that I love and I’m happy from where I’m standing today. I still dreamed of having more of what I have. But at the end of the day I still thought that I am blessed for what I have because it’s hard-earned money, for I have a home, that I can have a decent meal and I can still have some things that I want. I can never be perfect to say that I am content but I can be human enough to say that I’m gonna work hard to live the life I want.
Poor community and poor families are often neglected and used by those who have the power to control them. With what? MONEY. What we usually see are those who are homeless, those that live on the streets, the informal settlers. People who beg for food and people who can’t find a job since they did not have a formal education, this is how we see poor people. And our first thought is how to help them. Most help that they get are financial aid which gave them a moment of fulfillment and joy but after that it’s back to the same old story.
I think that there is more from these people, it’s a matter of getting through them and not giving them a moment of life. Educating and helping them learn the basics of success and embracing life no matter how hard it is. It might be easy for me to say for I am not on their feet but I am saying this to strengthen a person to see far more than what he see.
Poverty is not just a problem to our society but it’s also a mental illness that can simply makes a person just deteriorate and give up what they’re living for. I wrote this in dedication of a relative who just took his life last 21st of May 2015.
